Having chosen a Victoria Carpet for your home...what next?

Carpet is a luxurious yet practical floor covering. It makes a home feel more welcoming as well as cushioning the sound of footsteps and keeping in warmth. With just a little care, your new Victoria carpet will give you many years of service and comfort. This section aims to help you get the most out of your carpet and keep it looking good for years to come. Use the ‘Stain Removal Chart’ on the right as a general guide to stain removal. Here are a few golden rules for dealing with the inevitable spills and accidents:

		Move fast – the sooner you tackle a spill, the better your chance of avoiding a stain
		Always use clean, white cloth, kitchen roll or tissues
		Do not rub too vigorously
		Always work from the outside towards the inside to avoid spreading the stain
		Brush up the pile to help the carpet retain its appearance as it dries out
		If in any doubt about treatment, consult a professional carpet cleaner

Fluffing/Shedding

When your carpet is first laid, you may notice some fluffing or shedding as fibres, trapped during the weaving or tufting process, work their way to the surface. This is perfectly normal and we recommend regular vacuuming, daily if possible, during the first few weeks. Victoria Carpets strongly recommends the use of suction only type cleaner with loop pile carpets.
